THE END OF ANOTHER CHAPTER - YR 13 LEAVERS ASSEMBLY

About

The 21st of April was the Year 13's final day of school. Traditionally, the Leavers Assembly in is held annually in the Upper Gym to provide the Yr 13 students a cheerful send-off before they begin their IB exams and future aspirations at university. Throughout the assembly, the atmosphere was filled with excitement and liveliness as the Yr 13s begins to finish Senior School (SS) and transition to a new chapter of life. The assembly included many videos, performances, and even a few surprises from departed Dulwich teachers to commemorate finishing a long and meaningful journey at Dulwich. Many people, even parents who had not been able to come since the start of the pandemic, were there to help celebrate their children's new milestone and journey at Dulwich.

The highlights rested upon the multiple musical and band performances. Hera and Cici started first with a piano performance featuring the song Sleeping Beauty Waltz by Tchaikovsky. The song was elegantly melodic, captivating the audience’s attention with the complexities of the piece as their hands graciously moved across the piano keys.

As a fitting end to the assembly, the final two performances – led by Yau Kei and his team – sent the crowd roaring as the audience sang the song "21 Guns", by Green Day, with the performers on stage.

Between the intermission period, Baby videos of the Yr 13s followed by a farewell video

from Dulwich teachers was played to express the teachers’ gratitude and appreciation of their time at Dulwich. Although very emotion, the assembly was also filled with laughter and cheers as each of the Yr 13s collect their past-self and prepare for their new wayward journeys ahead of them.
