THE QUIZ NIGHT HAS MADE A COMEBACK

About

The Peace Center Quiz Night is an annual event where students, teachers, and staff members spend an evening participating in quizzes, raffle tickets, and other collaborative activities: all with a grand prize. All the proceeds from the event went to the Peace Center charity. Fortunately, the event was able to happen in person this year due to the removal of strict pandemic regulations. The event formally started at 19:00 and ended at 11:00, consisting of over 300 participants and over 20 organizers. Huge shoutouts are made to the Global Citizenship portfolio, Mr. Reich, Ms. Kruger, and the volunteers for the event. They have taken tremendous amounts of time outside of school to plan for the event. Without them, the event would not have been made possible.

What is the Peace Center?

The Peace Center is a charitable organization that seeks to accrue donations from charities around the globe to help provide education to impoverished and orphaned children who have been out of school in Uganda. The PEACE program acronym stands for "Peace, Education, And, Community, and Empowerment". To help increase the accessibility of education for children, the program provides school fees, school uniforms, and proper meals for the children part of the program. Education is the building block in which The PEACE Programme has been built upon since continued education is the key to future opportunities and successes.

The partnerships established between Dulwich Pudong and the Peace Center initially began in 2014. Leading up to 2020 - just predating COVID-19 - The trustees for the Peace Center would organize school trips, for which Dulwich would run an annual community Quiz Night to garner greater financial funds to help provide the needed support to the organization for it to achieve its objectives.
